sadness...

The last few months I have witnessed many amazing miracles in our lives and lives of friends and family. I have also unfortunately witnessed a lot of horrible attacks on some people I like to keep up with. Some of them have been spiritual attacks, some verbal, some written, and some physical.

Please pray for the families of the four fallen police officers that were shot to death while having a meeting at a restaurant. This sort of thing is just unimaginable. J. is going to be attending the memorial tomorrow. I will be watching it on television.

Pray for several different friends struggling more than you'd ever know with some very difficult things.

Revelation 6:3-4 (New International Version)
3 When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" 4 Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword.

Sinterklaas came to the children's home!

Today I got home from a lovely little getaway with two good friends. It was a very nice time and I am so glad I got a short break from the kids.

We mailed in our i600a paperwork, with hopes they may expedite the approval.

Tomorrow we are making a payment to retain our lawyer.

Then there will be more waiting.... and praying!

Mercy is on summer break from school for 2 months. I was told that she is doing well, and is very funny. I think she will fit into our family perfectly!

Here is a cute story about Mercy:
On Saturday I went with her to the market and all the children where teasing her about her helmet. Mercy answered that she was going to be a pilot that's why she is wearing a helmet. It was very cute and all the children stopped teasing her.

a little news

We heard from our lawyer today, and we are sending him our initial payment via Western Union. He said he wasn't sure if he did receive our homestudy, but he will confirm that. Huh? I re-attached it and sent it again. I am also sending in our I600A paperwork today. Please pray that they will expedite it for us. I'm not sure how things are going on the Ugandan side of things. Hoping they are going well.

No news still

I emailed the lawyer our homestudy on Monday. I have yet to hear from him! I sent him another note just to confirm that he received my last message. Waiting is oh so hard, especially when you know your child needs medical help!

Morning yoga

We are not really a yoga family, but J. really needs to stretch and get his flexibility back. He is doing the P90X video workout and Yoga X is part of the program. Here is E. doing some poses with his Daddy. Too cute. I bet this will help with his balance...

Oh the things you can do

AND now,
a cheesy poem from me to our little S.:

Oh the things you can do
now that you are nearly two,

You can jump, run and dance
and put on a shoe,

You eat meals all by yourself
and help wash when you're through,

You brush your teeth
wipe your nose with a tissue,

You like to vacuum and sweep
we wonder if that's an issue,

You say your sorry
to the friend whose toy you threw,

You like to explore and climb
we help you if you get a boo-boo,

You love taking baths
and let us help you shampoo,

You are starting to make-believe
last night I saw you use kung-fu,

We love you so much
regardless of the permanent scribble you drew,

We're so glad you are ours
there's nothing we wouldn't do for you!

My apologies, I just had to do it!
