sadness...

The last few months I have witnessed many amazing miracles in our lives and lives of friends and family. I have also unfortunately witnessed a lot of horrible attacks on some people I like to keep up with. Some of them have been spiritual attacks, some verbal, some written, and some physical.

Please pray for the families of the four fallen police officers that were shot to death while having a meeting at a restaurant. This sort of thing is just unimaginable. J. is going to be attending the memorial tomorrow. I will be watching it on television.

Pray for several different friends struggling more than you'd ever know with some very difficult things.

Revelation 6:3-4 (New International Version)
3 When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" 4 Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword.

It is too bad that people feel they need to hurt other people. Not sure if it gives them a feeling of power of if hurt is born of hatred.

My heart has been heavy all week for the officers in Lakewood, and the families of the slain officers. The shooting took place in the neighborhood that I grew up in. I know right where the coffee shop is ... and my bestest friend also owns a nearby Forza Coffee Shop. So ... this hit close to home for me.

We were actually driving through Parkland on that Sunday morning ... saw emergency vehicles flying down the freeway ... and read the news when we got back to the island that night. Stunned! In shock!

We rode the ferry tonight ... with a group of officers that had been at the service today. Sounds like it was an amazing memorial and tribute to the officers.
